I’m a former teacher, recent PhD grad, and mom doing everything for this blog — the research, the writing, the promotions. I am a solo-preneur! When I share links to things off of my site, it’s because I have personally used the product and think it’s worthy of sharing.
However, along with those recommendations, I’m sometimes using affiliate links. Those links are traceable back to me so businesses can give me a commission for the sale at no additional cost to you. An example of that is the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. This program helps bloggers like me earn fees through Amazon links. That doesn’t mean I think Amazon is necessarily the best place to buy something (#shoplocal and #supportsmallbusinesses). But if you’re an Amazon shopper anyway, these links allow me to make a small commission to help pay for my blog hosting and other blogging expenses.
Please know that while I use these affiliate links, the earnings potential will never influence the content. My opinions (and I have many) are entirely mine. If I don’t like or use something, you’ll either hear my honest review or nothing at all. I only link to these companies and their products because of their quality and not because of the commission potential. The decision is entirely yours to buy through my links or shop elsewhere (or not at all!).
From time to time, I may host a giveaway. If that happens, I’ll tell you whether I’m the one who’s buying the item to be given or if it’s been gifted to me by its maker. Sometimes, I may be given a product to review, and they’ll allow me to keep the product as a thank you for for taking the time to write about it. I’ll tell you that, too.
